Cloudbuster Plugin.
A phase-vocoder resynthesis sampler. Load a sound, play it across a MIDI keyboard, and stretch pitch and time independently. Edit the frames individually, or all together, and create weird phase effects and original sounds!

What it does.
Resynthesis, not playback
Notes are rebuilt from analysed FFT frames rather than played back from the file. Pitch and time are fully independent, and any window of a sample can be held for as long as you hold the key.
Paint the spectrum
Brush gain and phase directly onto the spectrogram to carve, boost, or scramble individual bins. Rect, triangle, and cosine brush shapes, adjustable spread, freeze and zoom.
Analysis in your hands
FFT size, window size, hop divisor, and internal sample rate are all exposed. Detune the analysis away from the source and you get the smearing and metallic artefacts as an instrument, not a bug.
Playable
Load a WAV, AIFF, FLAC, or OGG, set a root note, and play it over MIDI. Stretch from 0.25× to 8×, per-voice ADSR, and Gate / Play to End / Loop note modes.
Installing.
- 01Download
Cloudbuster.pkgand open it. - 02It installs the Audio Unit to
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Componentsand the VST3 to/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3, for all users on the machine. - 03Restart your DAW, or rescan plugins.
- 04Add Cloudbuster as an instrument, then hit Load Sample to point it at a WAV, AIFF, FLAC, or OGG.
